Ninja Scroll

    Approximately 50 seconds of footage has been cut on this DVD, footage which is present on the Australian VHS version of this title. A detailed description of the cuts can be found here. Fundamentally, the cuts consist of the following;
  1. The removal of around 18 seconds worth of Ninja Stars being thrown at Tessai from Chapter 4
  2. The removal of around 43 seconds of Tessai having his way with Kagero from Chapter 5. If you want to get a good idea of what we are missing out on in this scene, take a look at the Ninja Scroll Theatrical Trailer from 4:02 - 4:10.
    These cuts are purely because we share this disc with Region 2. It is unsatisfactory that our R-rated version has to suffer these cuts because of another Region's film regulations. This is doubly irritating when you consider the fact that the Australian VHS version is uncut.

    By the way, it would not surprise me if there is more footage that hasn't appeared on any Ninja Scroll release to date, as a couple of scenes seemed just a little incomplete, but that's only my opinion.
