Set in an exclusive Finishing School for Young Ladies in nineteenth-century Europe, the macabre story of "Lust for a Vampire" tells of the strange and horrific happenings that occur both in the elegant surroundings of the school and the ruins of nearby Karnstein Castle.

The fascinating and fatal Carmilla, here renamed Mircalla, enrols at the prestigious finishing school and proceeds to wreak havoc among the pupils and teachers alike. Among those who fall victim to her striking and sensual beauty is Richard Lestrange, the school's new English teacher, who at first refuses to credit the ugly rumours about her true nature. As the truth about her begins to unfold, Lestrange is forced to recognise Mircalla's guilt. Even so, when the outraged villagers finally attack the Castle and set it ablaze, he risks his life in an attempt to save her.

A lush production, imaginative photography and stylish direction, a crop of eager and lovely young girls and a remarkable performance as the predatory Mircalla by Yutte Stensgaard, all add up to an entertainment sufficient to have aroused even the old Count.
