Welcome to the family reunion from Hell, location Little Rock, Arkansas...C'mon over and meet the whole clan - there's feuding lovers, Claude (Thornton -'Intolerable Cruelty') and Ruby (Laura Dern - 'I Am Sam'), Ruby's sultry sister Rose (Kelly Preston - 'View From The Top'), her eccentric mother Jewel (Diane Ladd - '28 Days'), their panic stricken aunt Julia (Brenda Blethyn - 'Lovely & Amazing'), the senile old family patriarch 'O.T.' (Andy Griffin - 'Spy Hard') and the jailed uncle Hazel (the late Jim Varney - 'Ernest Goes To School').

Throw in two attorneys at war (Ben Affleck - 'Daredevil' and Jamie Lee Curtis - 'Freaky Friday') and you have a recipe for disaster 'southern style'.

Described by Thornton as a 'hillbilly romantic comedy', this is a sweet and sour mix of Ambrosia salad, armed robbery, dirty talk, cheap sex, head-on collisions and a Macarena monkey. With grits on the side.
