The career of one of rock music's premier musicians is celebrated in The Disney Channel's award-winning "Robbie Robertson: Going Home". Robbie Robertson's music covers nearly the entire spectrum of rock & roll, spanning the decades from 1950s rhythm-and-blues through the Woodstock era, to 1990s world music. In illustrating his long and varied career-performing with rock and roll legend Ronnie Hawkins, working with Bob Dylan, as a founding member of The Band, as a solo artist and film scorer, and now as leader of The Red Road Ensemble-the special utilizes a wide array of film footage that has never before been telecast. The vintage film clips and interviews of industry top guns such as Eric Clapton, Martin Scorsese, Barry Levinson and producer Daniel Lanois help explain and define Robertson's role in the recording and film industries, in a fast-paced, entertaining style.
