NRL-Classic League Grand Finals: Manly Grand Final Quadruple Pack

Every decade in Rugby League history has had a dominant club and the 1970s belonged to Manly-Warringah.

Their path to premiership glory was a long and frustrating one: they had to settle for the runners-up position five times before they could finally claim the ultimate prize. So after 25 years of trying, it was very sweet when the Sea Eagles finally delivered the J.J. Giltinan Shield to the peninsula by downing Easts in the 1972 Grand Final.

After such a long drought, it quickly became a maroon and white flood. They made it back to back titles twelve months later by overcoming Cronulla in one of the toughest deciders ever, then captured further premierships in 1976 and '78 to make it four in seven years.
