Devastated by a failed hostage crisis in which a young mother and child died, LAPD negotiator, Jeff Talley, retreats to the low crime hamlet of Bristo Camino to become the local chief of police. However, the ghosts of Talley's past return when three delinquents take a family hostage after a failed home robbery. Holed up in a multi-million dollar compound which hides its own dark secrets, the kidnappers create a tense standoff.
