After his split from The Pogues in 1991, Shane MacGowan came back stronger than ever in 1995 with his new band The Popes and their first album The Snake. During the tour in support of this album they stopped off at the Montreux Jazz Festival for what is, his only performance there. The concert combines tracks from The Snake album, such as Nancy Whisky and Bring Down The Lamp, with Pogues classics such as If I fall From Grace With God, A Pair Of Brown Eyes and The Irish Rover. When Shane and The Popes are in town, every night's is a party.
