This offbeat sci-fi thriller stars Don Johnson as Vic, a young loner lost in a post-apocalyptic wasteland who teams up with a quick-witted, telepathic canine (Blood), to search out food... and women. The forerunner to Mad Max, A Boy and his Dog's post-nuclear setting is dated 2024, in the years following the devastating impact of WWIV.Roaming the radiated desert-scape, or 'the surface', a world ruled by marauding gangs of nomadic cut-throats, Vic and Blood eke out a meagre existence until Vic happens upon the beautiful Quilla June and follows her into the underground. The newcomer is quickly targeted by underground leader Jason Robards (All the President's Men), who, bent on repopulating his subterranean utopia, hooks Vic up to an artificial insemination machine before the latter makes an epic bid to escape. A kinky cult classic driven by hilarious repartee between Blood and Vic, this lost 70s gem is the definitive post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure.
