Elton John is one of the most successful and popular artists of the last four decades. His flamboyance both on and off stage coupled with a repertoire of over 200 songs has earned him an enviable position at the top of the music industry. This DVD celebrates the twenty-five year (at the time of filming in 1991) writing partnership of Elton John & Bernie Taupin, a partnership that rivals Lennon/McCartney, Jagger/Richards and Holland/Dozier/Holland in its length and productivity. From their first meeting in 1967 it chronicles a career that went on to sell one hundred million records worldwide. In addition to performances of some of Elton's best known songs - "Your Song", "Daniel", "Candle In The Wind", "Philadelphia Freedom" - this video includes some of the less familiar songs "Skyline Pigeon", "Empty Garden" and "Tiny Dancer" which illustrates how the writing partnership operates. Rare performances, never before seen archive footage, and their own home movies are inter-cut with in-depth interviews with Elton & Bernie, and with tributes from some of their musical contemporaries and admirers - including Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey, Phil Collins, Sting and Sinead O'Connor, who also perform excerpts from brand new cover versions of classic John/Taupin songs taken from the TWO ROOMS album.
