Rap ‘n Live presents some of the hottest West Coast rappers of the 90’s performing live at the infamous Summer Jam festival of 1997. The DVD kicks off with freestylin’ masters, The WhoRidas, who made there debut during the mid-90’s, represented a new generation of hip-hop styling: hard but intelligent. Their first single, Shot Callin' & Big Ballin', sold 15,000 copies independently out of the back of a car! The Comrads, long-time protégés of West Coast heavyweight Mack 10, take up where The WhoRidas leave off, with smash hits such as, Homeboyz; warming the crowd up for headliner DJ QUIK. Hailed as a rapper/producer revolutionary, DJ Quik rips up the stage with huge hits like Tonite and If You Want It. Mid-way through his set, DJ Quik welcomes 90’s sensation El Debarge on stage, one of his many special guests, to perform the track I Like It. Ending the concert on a high note, DJ Quik whips the crowd into a frenzy with his chart-topping smash hit Born & Raised In Compton.
