Dawn!
Dawn Fraser won four gold medals at three Olympics between 1956 and 1964. She remains the only athlete in the world to win the same event - the 100m freestyle - at three consecutive Olympic Games. During her legendary, and tumultuous, nine-year swimming career, Dawn set 28 world records and won eight Olympic medals.

This classic biographical drama, produced in 1979, explores Fraser's life before and after her competitive years, beginning with her working-class upbringing in the Sydney suburb of Balmain, and climaxing in the notorious events surrounding the Tokyo Olympics when she was banned from competitive swimming after allegedly stealing the national flag. A rare insight into one of the most infamous episodes in Australian sporting history, Dawn also brings to life the spirit and passion of one of Australia’s greatest sporting heroes.

Four Minute Mile, The
It was the sporting equivalent of conquering Everest: running a mile in under four minutes. A feat long thought impossible, in 1954 two supremely gifted athletes emerged as frontrunners to break the milestone: England's Roger Bannister and Australia's John Landy.

Though Bannister will be remembered as the first man to break the mile, this thrilling mini-series (brilliantly scripted by David Williamson - The Club, Don's Party) continues the action to the 1954 Empire Games when Landy and Bannister have their first head-to-head clash in the so-called 'race of the century' - for Landy, winning the race in a record time would establish him as the greatest runner of his generation.

Rose Against the Odds
The classic tale of one of the greatest and most charismatic sportsmen - boxer Lionel Rose. In 1968 Rose captured the imagination of the sporting world when he defied the odds to become world bantamweight champion as an unknown 19 year old.
This is the tale of one man's gift - not only in the ring, but also outside the ropes, where his captivating smile and alluring nature endeared him to all he met. At his peak he was a national hero, at his tragic worst he was a petty thief who struggled to overcome the influence of alcohol and drugs. Rose fights back, picking himself up and putting his life back on track, adding an extra dimension to an incredible man.
