Violent Cop (Sono otoko, kyobo ni tsuki)
VIOLENT COP is the explosive and critically acclaimed directorial debut from Japanese master film maker "Beat" Takeshi Kitano. Kitano is Azuma - a vicious detective who deals out harsh justice with an iron fist - Dirty Harry style. Investigating a drug dealer's murder, Azuma and rookie detective Kikuchi find fellow officers are on the take. When Azuma is caught for beating a gangster he is forced to quit the force. After the gang kidnaps his sister as retribution, Azuma goes on a merciless rampage of revenge. With Kitano's Zen-like direction VIOLENT COP is a stylish, smart and skull shattering reinvention of the Japanese Yakuza genre.

Boiling Point (1990) (3-4x juugatsu)
Masaki is a frail, quiet boy dividing his time between working in a gas station and playing baseball. When Masaki and his baseball coach are violently bullied by the local Yakuza, Masaki heads to Okinawa city to buy a gun and take revenge. Along the way he meets Uehara (Kitano) a psychotic and ultra-violent Yakuza outcast who is planning some revenge of his own. Soon the situation comes to its very own BOILING POINT.

Sonatine (1993)
Sonatine is a masterwork from legendary writer, actor and director Takeshi Kitano. Kitano is Murakawa, a yakuza chief sent to Okinawa to settle a dispute between two factions. Several of his men die in suspicious circumstances so Murakawa and the rest of the gang retreat to a remote beach house to await orders. Soon he realises that he has been set up and Murakawa sets out to find his powerful yakuza bosses for a final showdown. Images of beauty are set against extreme violence in this unique, clever and original piece of Japanese yakuza cinema.
