If there is life after death - love lives on

A widowed father of two, Michael Farr (Ciarán Hinds) has been experiencing strange things in his house late at night. He isn't sure if he is simply having terrifying nightmares or if his house is indeed haunted.

Each year, the Irish seaside town of Cobh hosts an international literary festival, attracting writers from all over the world. When Michael is assigned to chaperone the attractive Lena Morelle (Iben Hjejle)—an author with a keen interest in ghosts and the supernatural—the two develop a cautious friendship. For the first time, he has met someone who can accept the reality of what has been happening to him. But Lena's attention is pulled elsewhere; she has come to the festival at the bidding of world-renowned novelist Nicholas Holden (Aidan Quinn), who wants to rekindle their affair from the year before.

As the festival progresses, the trajectories of these three people draw them into a life-altering collision. The Eclipse takes us on an haunting literary journey into the burden of grief, fear of the unknown and the challenges of love.
