In true retro-rocket style, a bunch of scientists and a newspaper reporter crash-land on Mars after suffering severe damage in a meteor storm. They discover an advanced civilisation of Martians who look just like humans and they live in huge underground cities. After repairing the rocketship for them, the Martians seem to be benevolent beings, until the astronauts discover that they are actually going to steal the rocket and use it to conquer Earth! It's up to our retro-heroes to prevent a catastrophe of interplanetary proportions.
