In classic, retro sci-fi style, “Invaders From Mars” is considered by many to be the definitive “cold war” sci-fi paranoia parable. Liberally laced with paranoia of that era, it is not only an exceptional film, but a reflection of the sentiment of the 50s as well. During a thunderstorm, young David McLean happens to see a flying saucer land in a nearby field. No one believes his wild and frantic tale since the alien invaders have buried themselves and their ship underground. But when the town’s inhabitants begin acting unusually, David realises it’s time to take action before everyone succumbs to the invaders from Mars.
