From this point on, The Great Race was dominated by turbos, in particular the Sierra RS 500's and in the latter years by the sophisticated four wheel drive, twin-turbo GT-R of Nissan. 1992 has seen the last victory for a turbo, as they are no more. The generation of this complex technology has now passed and with the reintroduction of the V8 car we have seen The Great Race turn a full circle.
