Since the release of their 1994 debut album Dummy Portishead have forged as one of the most unique and eloquent sounds in modern music. On 24 July 1997 at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City the band (along with a 30-pece string section, and a 5 piece horn ensemble) engaged in a special live performance which has been dubbed as PNYC. This one-night only performance wove intricate orchestral arrangements into their already rapturous, cinematic soundscapes, making for a truly unforgettable evening. PNYC is being released as a special live recording capturing that evening. This British group evoke a wondrous mix of beats and voice that have placed an incredible impression on our souls!
