Passionate, wordless, and until Jay begins to follow her home, seemingly meaningless sex. Being the manager of a trendy bar and recently split from his wife and young family, Jay's days are long and lonely. Claire's visits fit in with his new life perfectly. But the more he finds out about her the more he discovers she has a life of her own and that she is in fact the one using him.
Intimacy explores the mysteries of sexual desire and our contemporary, yet age-old preoccupation with the relationship between love and sexual fulfilment.
The talents of director Patrice Chereau (The Queen Margot) and writer Hanif Kureishi (My Beautiful Laundrette) combine here to make a truly memorable film.
