Under Suspicion is an intriguing, passionate thriller set in England in the late 1950s. Disgraced former policeman, Tony Aaron (Liam Neeson), is scratching out a living as a private detective doing seedy divorce work. When a supposedly routine set-up to get incriminating evidence for a divorce goes horribly wrong, resulting in the murder of his own wife Hazel (Maggie O’Neill) and an affluent client, Aaron finds himself under suspicion of murder.
Aided by his only remaining friend in the police force, Frank (Kenneth Cranham), Aaron sets out to clear his name, but the murderer has inadvertently caused a major scandal. The client, Stasio, was a famous American painter who has left behind a widow, Selina (Aphonsia Emmanuel), and a mistress, Angeline (Laura San Giacomo), both of whom stand to benefit from Stasio’s death.
Hounded by a former police colleague who is gathering evidence against him, Aaron finds himself deeply involved, not only in murder, but with the beautiful and sensual Angeline, the most likely suspect.
