Sphinctour is a "composite concert" DVD filmed during Ministry's 1996 tour (60 shows across 11 countries) in support of their Filth Pig album. From recording to touring to interviewing, Ministry have never done anything conventionally so don't expect a typical pay-per-view $80,000 crane-mounted live experience. Filmed with one hi-8 camera by filmmakers Jeffrey Kinart and Doug Freel, Sphinctour is made up of hundreds of edits mirroring both the band's murderous sonic fury and the debilitating mental health that one can only experience being on the road. Some of it is quite funny; some of it is pretty ghastly; but Sphinctour IS an honest representation of the glorious trainwreck that is Ministry.
