Winner of the Camera d’Or at the 1996 Cannes Film Festival, Love Serenade is the debut of Australian director Shirley Barrett.
This wonderfully bizarre, witty comedy of two sisters in a tiny town who succumb to the charms of their new neighbor: a lanky, honey-voiced disk jockey named Ken Sherry (George Shevtsov), who has fled the big city to spin Barry White records on the radio. As the sisters, Miranda Otto and Rebecca Frith, embody both sisterly nosiness and solidarity, and unexpectedly find themselves competing for Ken's easily captured affections.
