30 years ago, one film showed us the face of pure evil and changed the way we see horror films forever. William Friedkin's masterpiece is still the film against which all horror films are judged.

Now acclaimed Director Renny Harlin ("Driven", "Deep Blue Sea") has created a companion prequel that takes us back to the origins of sheer evil.

In the original Exorcist, while ministering to the Devil's assault on 12 year old Regan, the aged Father Merrin mentions once performing an exorcism in Africa when he was a young man - this is the story of that encounter with The Fallen One.

It is post World War II and Merrin has been sent to Turkana where a bizarre Byzantine Church has been unearthed in the middle of the desert. Something has been stirred in the cavernous pits below the surface, first sending the local tribesmen insane, then gripping all who venture near. Chaos, atrocity and possession have been unleashed. In the place where Evil was born, Merrin will, for the first time, see its true face.
