Children of the Marshlands (Enfants du marais, Les) (1999)
Somewhat a French version of Last of the Summer Wine, it is set in a small community beside the Loire River between the two world wars, the film follows a group of middle- and old-aged men working and living in the marshes. Children of the Marshland does not lose its charm through the subti-tles, making it a touching film for cinemagoers willing to give a foreign film about old fashioned values a chance.
