July 6th 1942 is a date Miep Gies will never forget, the day that Otto Frank, his business partner and their families went into hiding. The day her life changed forever.

Meip's courage and selflessness are beautifully depicted in this powerful and moving film, as for twenty-five months she risked her life daily to supply food for the eight inhabitants of the secret annex.

Actress Mary Steenburgen brilliantly portrays the vital link that Miep provided by keeping them in contact with the outside world and bestowing gentle encouragement and compassion.

Who betrayed them remains unkownn to this day. Miep, completely distraught by their capture made a final attempt to negotiate for their release which failed.

Above all, this compelling film shows how amongst so much evil and hatred good can still triumph. And it is because of Miep's return to The Attic, whe she discovered Anne's personal diary, that the The Diary of Anne Frank has become a worldwide legacy.
