JACK NICHOLSON is at his very best in this story of two career Navy men who, while transporting a naïve young sailor to military prison, decide to take a detour filled with drinking, fighting and one hell of a good time. From director HAL ASHBY (SHAMPOO and HAROLD AND MAUDE) and acclaimed screenwriter ROBERT TOWNE (CHINATOWN), THE LAST DETAIL was one of the first great films of the 70’s and remains a superb comic drama that’s “salty, bawdy, hilarious and very touching (Variety)”.
