Video Likes Clarity of image. Any effort made by the Studio to digitally restore the source print without making everything look bland. Fully realised colour.
Video Dislikes Thoughtless layer changes. Excessive artefacts on anything. Unneccesary advertising and warnings. Blu-ray load times!
Audio Likes Clean well seperated sound. DTS HD Master Audio and True HD
Audio Dislikes Poorly mixed sound which combines near inaudible passages followed by sonic thunder.
Favourite DVDs Death on the Staircase (Documentary) Riveting doesn't come close. A dissection of a murder trial with genuine surprises at each turn. Anything with Zhang Jiyi but if I had to make a choice probably House of Flying Daggers. New British Comedy: Spaced,League of Gentlemen, Big Train, The Office, Pulling. Lost in Translation : Murray and Johansson in a perfect combination.Tree of Life...
Least Favourite DVDs The original release of The Last Emperor - a real disappointment in terms of the quality of the transfer. The Fireman's Ball - a great film with as mucky transfer.
Most Eagerly Awaited DVDs Blu-rays : Interstellar and the Complete Miyazaki Collection on Madman

Opinions About Specific Movies and their DVDs
