Murder on the Orient Express (Blu-ray) (1974)
Ray N

With Kenneth Branagh’s remake of Murder on the Orient Express being released this is a good opportunity to revisit the original 1974 film on Blu-ray. The 1974 Murder on the Orient Express is a lush and sumptuous piece of filmmaking that is wonderfully entertaining and defines just what an “all-star cast” should mean. . The New Mike Hammer (1986)
Ray N

Nostalgic for the time when P.I. shows reigned on prime time TV? A time of huge gas-guzzling cars and women with big, big hair and massive padded shoulders? The TV series The New Mike Hammer, with Stacey Keach as Mickey Spillane’s private detective, may be just the thing. The New Mike Hammer ran for 4 seasons and 48 episodes between 1984 and 1987. This 7 DVD set from ViaVision contains all 22 episodes of season 3 plus two full length telemovies. . Sponsored by Atlantic DVD.

Orca: The Killer Whale (Blu-ray) (1977)
CallumK

Established fans of Orca: The Killer Whale will likely never sway from their opinion but as a first-time watcher in 2018 the movie has some serious problems and has dated dreadfully. It's got nothing on Jaws. News about Umbrella's Blu-ray release is mixed. The video transfer suffers from an array of problems, mostly in relation to severe print damage, but at least it looks natural and the encode is competent. Meanwhile, the audio is in serious need of clean-up work. Extras are scant but the effort is appreciated. Fans should enjoy the upgrade, especially if they've been clinging onto VHS tapes for decades. . Sponsored by Atomic Movies.

Blade Runner 2049 (Blu-ray) (Bonus Disc) (2017)
CallumK

This edition features the most complete selection of supplements for the movie to date, and they are of good quality. But even with the bonus disc, supplements still feel on the light side, especially in the absence of a commentary and deleted scenes. It's hard to shake the feeling that a double dip is inevitable. Nevertheless, until a double dip materialises (if it does), this set with its strong technical presentation comes highly recommended.
