The track list is as follows;
The transfer is presented at an aspect ratio of 1.33:1. It is not 16x9 enhanced. A few of the tracks are presented in a letterboxed format, varying from 1.66:1 to 1.85:1 in aspect.
The transfer is variably sharp, depending on the age and condition of the source material. The more recent tracks are very good indeed - the video quality of Motherless Child is superlative, whereas the video quality of Forever Man is very ordinary indeed. Shadow detail is passable given the source material, and there is little low level noise interfering with the image, though this does intrude occasionally with the older tracks, such as Forever Man.
The colours were passably rendered, with no particular highlights or lowlights.
There were no MPEG artefacts noted in this transfer - after the excessive artefacting exhibited by 24 Nights, I was watching very closely throughout this transfer for any problem areas, but there were none. The data transfer rate of this disc was consistently in the high 9 Mb/second range, and this is reflected in the lack of MPEG artefacting. There were a few minor aliasing artefacts, particularly during Change The World, and also occasionally affecting Eric Clapton's guitar strings, but there was nothing particularly worrying.
Dialogue and words were always easy to understand and clear.
There were a few minor audio sync problems with this disc, related mainly to the music videos. The live performances were all in sync. Tears In Heaven was marginally out of sync, and Blue Eyes Blue was considerably more out of sync, to the point of being quite distracting.
The music showcases a very wide range of styles, from the quite heavy Pilgrim to the soulful Blue Eyes Blue.
The surround channels were not used, this being a stereo mix only. Generally, the mix sounds good, though as with the video, this is variable in quality from the very ordinary-sounding Forever Man to the superb-sounding Wonderful Tonight and Motherless Child. In fact, Forever Man is quite an unfortunate choice to open this compilation with, given that it has by far the poorest quality video and audio of the entire compilation. Fortunately, the quality improves dramatically after this inauspicious opening track.
The .1 channel was not specifically used.
The video quality is acceptable, varying from quite poor (Forever Man) to superb (Motherless Child).
The audio quality is acceptable, also varying from quite poor (Forever Man) to superb (Wonderful Tonight, Motherless Child)..
