It (Blu-ray) (2017)

Cover Art An excellent adaptation of the source novel, It is an outstanding horror movie as well as a touching coming-of-age drama bolstered by top-flight technical specs. Stephen King himself has expressed his admiration for the movie, and it's not hard to see why. And now we wait patiently for the sequel. On Blu-ray, It is a major winner. Excellent video and audio do justice to this new horror classic on home video - even with a 4K alternative, I was still left incredibly impressed. Unfortunately, special features are a bit light, but what's included is still of a high quality. Talks of an extended cut persist, so perhaps we will get a more comprehensive Blu-ray package in the future. Until then, this one comes highly recommended. . Sponsored by Atomic Movies.

Doctor Who-Twice Upon a Time-2017 Christmas Special (Blu-ray) (2017)

To my mind, this is the best Christmas special yet in the new Doctor Who. A great sendoff for Peter Capaldi, Pearl Mackie and Stephen Moffat. . Sponsored by Atomic Movies.

It (4K Blu-ray) (2017)

This 4K disc surpasses its 1080p counterpart with ease. Despite being an "upscale," the 2160p video presentation is excellent, while the Atmos track is still perfection. Indeed, with the Dolby Vision HDR, the movie looks even better than it did at the cinema. Throw in the accompanying Blu-ray with its selection of special features, and this set comes highly recommended. . Sponsored by DVD Buzz.

Logan (Blu-ray) (2017)

Logan, starring Hugh Jackman as an aged, sick and disillusioned Wolverine, is far, far more than a Marvel superhero movie; it has enough heart, drama, soul-searching, mythmaking and action for a dozen superhero movies and is a fabulous film in its own right which can be viewed without any knowledge of the X-Men universe. . David Lynch: The Art Life (2016)
Ray N

Director David Lynch is a unique talent by any reckoning. David Lynch: The Art Life, a film by Rick Barnes, Jon Nguyen and Olivia Neergaard-Holm, is not a critique of his films but an inside look at the man himself from childhood to Eraserhead in an attempt to discover what makes him tick. . Sponsored by Atlantic DVD.
