Plot Synopsis

Kids shows are generally pretty conservative, they can be amusing but are generally not a wild and wacky mixture of pratfalls, off-the-wall and absurdist humour like this show from Canada. Accordingly, US & online critics have not been kind to this show garnering an average of 3.1 on IMDB. Personally, I don't think this is fair as they seem to based mostly on comments driven by the animals being 'almost naked' (shock! horror!) and there being some fart style humour. Considering that animals are generally completely naked, putting them in underwear should not cause such a carry on.

The concept of the animated series is about a group of animals in underwear who run a resort hotel called the Banana Cabana. They are led by Howie, a dog (in underwear) who manages the hotel in a fairly erratic manner. The rest of the team includes the perpetually angry Bunny who arranges guest activities, handyman Duck who is really quite weird, Octo (a nervous Octopus) who manages the front desk, Piggy the chef, Sloth who manages customer service slowly & Narwhal who provides entertainment. Each episode runs for about 11 minutes and generally focuses on some bizarre scheme thought up by Howie or Duck or something external which effects the hotel.

This disc is the fourth to be released of this series and includes 9 episodes from Season 1 (2011). My young boys love this series finding it very amusing indeed. Adults will get something out of it too as there is some sly popular culture references and jokes.

Lots of fun to be had and kids will enjoy it.
