Robot Chicken is a stop-motion animation satirical television series created by actor Seth Green and Matthew Senrich. It has been running since 2006 and has so far produced 6 seasons of satirical silliness. Over the same period they have now produced three Star Wars themed specials plus now this first DC Comics themed special. This one pokes fun at all your favourite super heroes including Superman, Batman and especially Aquaman. It was made with the full co-operation of the DC Comics people.
The comedy here is a mixture of juvenile and clever satire, however it is just about always funny. There are numerous short sketches and a through storyline in this 23 minute special. All of your favourite characters are included along with some you may never have heard of like B'dg and Firestorm (who supposedly really do exist). See Superman use his secret kissing power, see Batman and Bane, see Aquaman try to avoid turning evil, see Lex Luthor with hair. All this can be yours in this new Robot Chicken special!
If you enjoy things like Family Guy, American Dad or The Simpsons and love DC Comics, this is definitely the show for you. Very funny stuff!
The video quality is very good with no issues to report.
The feature is presented in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio which is the original aspect ratio. It is 1080i using the VC-1 codec.

There are no other artefacts.
There are subtitles in English for the Hearing Impaired which are easy to read but a little small.

Lots of extras are included.
The menu features some of the music and is still.
The writers and voice cast discuss the characters and explain why they targeted Aquaman. Not Bad.
Argument amongst the writers about how they decided to use Aquaman.
The writers and voice cast provide video commentary, although it is enabled by seamless branching rather than P-I-P. When a chicken appears on screen you hit enter and a short video segment plays of the writers etc., talking about the scene. The chickens sometimes flash by too quickly to select. Nothing spectacular.
6 writers get together for a reasonably informative commentary about their story and joke choices.
Alfred Molina, Seth Green, Tom Root & Matt Senrich talk about their comic book collections and get silly.
Getting shown around the DC Comics office and all the stuff they manage to take away with them.
Featurette about a launch party where they all dress up as super heroes.
Voice recording bloopers. Not overly funny.
A large selection of other ideas mostly in storyboard form with voiceover. Some funny stuff but mostly gross.
Seth Green, Matt Senrich & the DC Comics rep answer short questions on the special.
NOTE: To view non-R4 releases, your equipment needs to be multi-zone compatible and usually also NTSC compatible.
Our local release is coded for all regions and content wise seems to be the same as the US release. Draw.
