Gloria Estefan - Gloria! Don't Stop! is a compilation of twelve songs, of which 7 are video clips, 4 are from live concert performances and 1 is a mixture of live footage and video clip footage. Oye and Heaven's What I Feel appear twice on this disc, once in English and once in Spanish, further reducing the variety.
There is a short introduction scene before each video clip, which consists of Gloria Estefan arriving at various places and interacting with the crowd. In my humble opinion, this footage does not enhance the disc content in any way except to pad out the disc so that it reaches 70 minutes in length.
The content and quality of this disc pales when it is compared to the Gloria Estefan-Everlasting Gloria! DVD.
1. Oye 2. Heaven's What I Feel 3. Don't Stop (Live At Studio 54) 4. Turn The Beat Around (Pablos Remix) 5. You'll Be Mine (Party Time) 6. I'm Not Giving You Up (Moran Remix) | 7. Higher (Big Red Video Remix) 8. Everlasting Love (Live In L.A.) 9. Gloria HITMIX 10. Tres Deseos 11. Corazon Prohibido (Spanish Version) 12. Oye (Spanish Video Version) |
Overall, the video transfer is good, but several video clips suffer noticeably from the effects of the NTSC 3:2 pull-down process, and there are some other minor problems too, which end up spoiling an otherwise great transfer.
The transfer is presented in an aspect ratio of 1.33:1 (4x3).
The picture is extremely clear and sharp at all times, except for the Tres Deseos video clip, which seems a little soft.
The colour is generally excellent, except during Higher and Everlasting Love, where the picture was overbright and the colours washed out. Both of these songs have NTSC footage from the Gloria Estefan-The EVOLUTION Tour-Live in Miami concert.
No film artefacts or low-level noise were noticed.
The short introduction scenes before each video clip all suffered badly from NTSC 3:2 pull-down and moderate aliasing.
As the video source changes from video clip to video clip, so too does the quality and the problems associated with that particular clip. Any problems noticed with each clip are detailed in the Video Clip Quality Section. In the absence of a comment on any particular aspect of the picture you can assume it is of very good to excellent quality. I have also mentioned stand-out or positive aspects of the picture quality on some video clips.

Overall |
There are two English audio tracks on this DVD; Dolby Digital 5.1 448Kb/s and Linear PCM 48/16 2.0 1536Kb/s. I listened to the Dolby Digital 5.1 448Kb/s soundtrack.
The dialogue was extremely clear and easy to understand throughout the entire disc.
No audio sync problems were noticed with this transfer. There are many many times where Gloria is not actually singing the words and thus the sound does not match the picture, but this not a transfer problem.
The sound field is mostly front-heavy, with only Oye and You'll Be Mine (Party Time) making really good use of the surround channels. This was disappointing after just listening to the Gloria Estefan-Everlasting Gloria! DVD.
The .1 LFE channel usage varies from very good to excellent. Turn The Beat Around and Higher have deep bass, which adds a real punch to the sound.
Since there are no dropouts or glitches in the soundtrack, you will only find comments on the Surround and .1 LFE channel usage of this soundtrack. In the absence of a comment on any particular aspect of the audio you can assume that it is of very good quality. I have also mentioned stand-out or positive aspects of the audio track. See the Video Clip Quality Section for further details.
Special Note: The audio menu refers to the second soundtrack as Dolby Stereo, where it is actually a Linear PCM 48/16 2.0 1536Kb/s soundtrack.

NOTE: To view non-R4 releases, your equipment needs to be multi-zone compatible and usually also NTSC compatible.

The audio transfer is very good, but the soundfield is mostly front-heavy.
