Picking up months after the conclusion of the first season, this second season follows the megalomaniac Killface (an educated single father struggling with his son's sexuality, whose broad life goal of world domination is yet to come to fruition) as he runs for President against Xander Crews (a rich, corrupt playboy billionaire who moonlights as the super hero Awesome-X).
Having solved the global warming issue when his last plot for world domination accidentally moved the Earth's orbit out by a metre or so, Killface is running for the green vote on the Democratic ticket. Weapon-happy Crews happily buys the Republican nod.
Feeling a bit neglected of late, Awesome-X's past sidekicks the Xtacles unite with Killface's discarded sidekick to derail both party's campaign.
Frisky Dingo remains the best of Adult Swim's (Harvey Birdman, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021) more recent series in this second season, all twelve of which are on this disc. Though it appears hacked together quickly and cheaply, the show manages to balance puerile humour and witty social commentary with impeccable finesse.
A highly recommended time-waster.
The video is presented in its original 1.33:1 full-frame aspect ratio.
This PAL video transfer appears to have been sourced from an NTSC master. Overlapping frames are visible in the animation, although the animation is rarely fast enough for this to be particularly noticeable.
The show features an interesting animation style that comprises very simply drawn foreground characters animated digitally in front of fairly detailed static backgrounds. The images are sharp throughout and feature a lush and even colour palette.
There is no sign of compression artefacts or film artefacts in the video.
English subtitles stream for the hearing impaired are provided. The subtitles appear to reflect the dialogue quite accurately
This is a RSDL disc, with a layer transition occurring between episodes.

The disc comes in a fairly nice cardboard digipak and features a very modest couple of extras.
A single English Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo (224Kb/s) soundtrack is provided.
The audio offers no surprises, for better or worse. The dialogue is clear and easy to understand. There are no synchronisation issues. The eclectic music featured in the show is well mixed.
There is no noticeable surround speaker usage or subwoofer usage.

An amusing short that serves to set up an upcoming spin-off series for the Xtacles.
A short political campaign message from Killface. Funny stuffy, but quite short.
Trailers for other Madman animated comedy series follow an unnecessary anti-piracy commercial.
NOTE: To view non-R4 releases, your equipment needs to be multi-zone compatible and usually also NTSC compatible.
Aside from obvious PAL/NTSC differences, the Region 1 edition includes a sticker that doesn't come with the Region 4 edition. Hardly worth the effort of looking internationally.
Frisky Dingo is certain to please Adult Swim fans. Anyone with a passing curiosity would probably do better to start with the first series (reviewed here) although it won't really make much of a difference!
Aside from minor NTSC conversion issues, the video looks good. The audio is as good as could be reasonably expected. The blink-and-you-would-miss-them extras are worth watching, but aren't going to sway anyone's decision to purchase.
